Val Hilliker has been entertaining for
over three decades with her zany since of humour and her cast of wacky
characters.
|
|
Val was raised
in Williams Lake
B.C.
In
1977 she read a how-to ventriloquism book and ended up performing her
first
show 30 days later in Quesnel B.C. She was hooked. By 1979 she was
playing to
thousands at the Jubilee auditorium. While raising her own children she
took a
20 year break from her passion. After the discovery of submandibular
cancer
she returned to her passion at the tender age of 42 she is sure
to make
an impact on her audiences. (Cancer zero Val 100 percent free). She
studied
comedy and improvisation with Joe Flaherty from the famed TV show SCTV,
and
Judy Carter, who wrote the Comedy Bible.
She has spent
thousands of hours bringing joy and laughter to schools,
theme parks, hospitals and fun events internationally.
Val is
certified in The Virtues Project as a Master Facilitator and is also a
certified World Laughter Leader. With these two certifications she
combines
laughter with the five strategies of the Virtues Project. Val’s
shows are in
demand by corporations, schools and family events across the Canada
– and now,
across the globe

| “She kept right in
stride and did a wonderful show. Her material is extremely well
presented and totally clean and fun, not to mention her wit. I’m
still cackling under my breath at her one-liners. It's been fun
crossing paths with a performer / fun person like her.”
- Paul S. Clark, Cardston, Alberta

Val is an artist,
mother
and outdoors woman. She recently married her biggest fan, audio tech,
roadie and
comedian Kelly Bundt. Together they are traveling the country, bringing
their
uplifting shows to audiences from Vancouver Isle to Newfoundland.
Val is the mother of
five
children, one of which still lives at home and accompanies Val and
Kelly on
some of their excursions, weather it be a show in The Pas, Manitoba,
or a turkey hunt in the hills of southern Alberta.
Born in Dawson Creek, B.C., Val prefers to take the road
less traveled, and some
of the adventures she’s had with Kelly on the back roads of Canada, or the backwoods of Alberta on her
ATV, find their way into her
shows.
When Kelly joined Val
full
time in December 2009 the shows took on
a new look when it became a two person effort. The two are constantly
striving
to make a new and improved show every time.

Val is making news around the world
with her ground-breaking creative shows. With over 200 shows a year,
performed
for all ages, she’s constantly raising the bar on family-friendly
entertainment. She has had the honor of representing Canada
twice at the World
Ventriloquist convention, in 2005 and 2008, reinventing ventriloquism
for the
21st century. She has been called a cross between Ellen DeGeneres and
Sherry
Lewis, creator of Lamb Chops. And her technique can only be described
with one
word – magical. Her shows are like watching a Disney movie, the
puppets are
engaging and the jokes are enjoyed by all ages. Val studied Japanese to
perform
her shows there. She made such an impact there another ventriloquist in
Japan
asked her for the rights to her material ~
he is currently using some of Val’s material in Japan.
